The Vision
We propose to create a uniquely interactive and wide-ranging visitor experience: a faithful recreation of the original 17th-century town of Port Royal, alongside a full-sized, fully operational square-rigged tall ship — The Satisfaction, one of the original vessels of Captain Henry Morgan, the privateer who became Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica.
The result is a destination unlike anything else in the Caribbean: living history, authentic seamanship, and immersive entertainment on a single site.
A Foundation in Real History
This is not an invented theme. Port Royal was, in its day, known as the richest and wickedest city in the world — the beating heart of the Caribbean in the golden age of sail. Captain Henry Morgan, who captained The Satisfaction, rose from privateer to Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica and was knighted by King Charles II.
That authenticity is the project’s foundation. Visitors won’t be experiencing a fabrication — they’ll be stepping into a genuine, extraordinary chapter of history, recreated with accuracy and ambition.
